
The prepeartions for Pakistan Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq are in full swing in Islamabad and other cities. The private and government organisations from Islamabad to Lahore, and Peshawar and other cities have decorated their buildings with national flags, banners and colourful lights. The excitement in streets, bazars and houses is palpable, however there is a crowd on stalls who are selling flags, badges, shirts and other national things.
This year, the celebration in Punjab will pay tribute to martyrs and veterans who fought for justice. The historical places of Lahore like Hazori Bagh and Minar-e-Pakistan are being prepared for the celebration and parts are decorated for celebrations. Poets, writers and students have participating in the competitions of peoetry, cultural enents and sports, which are giving traditional colours to the celebrations.
Radio Pakistan has also announced a special transmission, in which patriotic anthems, interviews of veterans and documentaries of the journey of 1947 to recent era will be included.
Security forces have issued an alert in big cities, however traffic managements are also done so that the gatherings can be controlled.
Special preparations are also done in Islamabad for Independence Day and Marka-e-Haq. In a meeting chaired by CTD Chairman, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the collective plan of decorating the city with lights and events was discussed.
ICT, constitution Avenue, Kalab road and other important roads will be decorated through digital streams and LED displays. Parks and public places will also be decorated from lights. Unfurling the flag, cultural events, fireworks, competition of patriotic songs, debates and student tablos will also be organized.
CDA Chairman said that the battle is a tribute to the armed forces of the nation and it is an expression of national unity and strength. This event is a proof of the strong solidarity of the people of Pakistan with their soldiers.
